Uplifting Communities: Liseli’s Transformative Work in Rural Western Zambia

This is the testimony of the Liseli Foundation where God’s light broke through and brought hope into the heart of rural Western Zambia, where the vibrant culture and breath-taking landscapes of Africa flourish. The Liseli Foundation is dedicated to nurturing community development and uplifting the lives of those in need. Liseli was founded first and foremost for the people of Barotseland, the Lozi tribe. To do everything in its capacity to expand the Kingdom of God here in Western Zambia.
A Holistic Approach to Community Development
The foundation of the Liseli Foundation is founded upon the Holy Bible, which emphasizes the importance of empathy, kindness, and support for those who are most vulnerable. With an unwavering commitment to addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by the rural population of Western Zambia, Liseli employs a rounded approach to community development that touches upon various aspects of life, ensuring the well-being of the whole individual.
Sustenance and Dignity for the Elderly and Widows
Every Monday is a special day for our foundation as Liseli has an initiative where elderly women and widows who are often without an income, can come and enquire income by participating in minimal labor. Through this initiative, these women’s needs are met, and they are valued highly as they make a difference in the community. Most importantly they join us for Monday devotions receiving both their daily bread and income.
Nourishing Minds: Daily School Meals
Education is a cornerstone for future development, and the Liseli Foundation recognizes its pivotal role in breaking the cycle of poverty. To ensure that children in the region can learn without the hindrance of hunger, Liseli provides daily meals at Ahavah Private School. Through addressing the nutritional needs of these young minds, a way is made for the pupils to give their best at school. It also assists in the alleviating of nutritional deficiencies that many children in the school and the region face.
Strengthening Spiritual Centers and Comfort for the Vulnerable
The Liseli Foundation’s commitment to Kingdom expansion extends to the local churches as well. Recognizing the significance of churches as communal spaces for worship, unity, and support, Liseli actively engages in efforts to improve and expand local churches. By providing roofs, concrete floors, seating arrangements and frequent visits, Liseli ensures that these places of worship are safe, comfortable, and conducive to creating a sense of belonging and spiritual growth.
Additionally, Liseli’s outreach programmes also include an old ladies programme, small scale farmer projects, bicycle drive, training centre, and a local school and church support programme, these are just a few programmes amongst a host of initiatives. Every year Liseli attempts to add more programmes and initiatives to our structure which all aim to see the community thrive and go forward with readiness for future growth.
Education: A Pathway

The Liseli Foundation is a Christian NGO that firmly believes that education plays a pivotal role in the progress of an individual. To this end, the organisation extends its reach to local schools, lending support and resources to bolster educational opportunities. Whether it’s through the provision of learning materials, infrastructure improvements, or sharing knowledge and skill, Liseli is committed to equip the next generation to reach their full potential that God created within them.
Equipping for Success: Liseli Christian NGO’s Empowerment Through Skills Training
One of the major goals of the Liseli Foundation is to ensure sustainable, generational change that won’t just last temporarily but change that will impact the community for generations to come. With this sustainability in mind, Liseli aims to equip individuals with the tools they need to build a sustainable future which is done through comprehensive skills training.
The skills training programmes are carefully crafted to cater to the needs of the community, taking into consideration local resources, cultural nuances, and market needs. We firmly believe there is great potential in everyone, and skill development helps identify and develop that potential. The skills training generally focuses on agricultural activities.

God has made it possible for the Liseli Christian NGO, Liseli Foundation to have an impactful footprint in Western Zambia, through faith-driven initiatives and compassion, sustainable changes have been brought about. By addressing the immediate needs of the elderly, nourishing the minds of children, supporting local churches, and embracing the vulnerable.
In conclusion, the impactful journey of the Liseli Foundation in Western Zambia has been nothing short of the impossible being made possible through faith and a dedication to see God’s Kingdom come.
